Today is my Best Friend Mike's Birthday & instead of making him go into hiding and embarrassing him again...lol I'm going to talk about the Aloha Spirit that sums up his love of Hawaii... which drew me to Hawaiian Life and why I'm here. A cinematographer, director, producer, head writer, editor, he run's the show! He is the brilliant mastermind behind the hilarious webseries Something With Erik And Ralph and the one man band behind the mesmerizing Liquid Vistas! He IS one of my Dearest Friends and is celebrating a Birthday! ;-)

   ♫ Aloha everyone in the Hawaiian Life community. How are you all? St. Patty's time again! Are you Irish? Thanks to my Best Friend, I am among other things... a mixed bag of beautiful light! lol What does that mean? I am Canadian, French, English, Scottish, Irish, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, Danish, & German, with a bit of Italian! Not bad except for one thing... I'm not Hawaiian! Came close to being born there though. ♫ Check out the NEW MUSIC SECTION below!! With it being the holiday Sunday, it's time for a little Hawaiian Mythology, St. Patrick's Day style. 

   Aloha everyone in the Hawaiian Life community! I hope you are all well. We just had a huge blizzard Nemo slam into the northeast!! My heart goes out to all affected and hope you are all safe and staying warm! If you are among the many out of power, I hope it is back on very soon. My family was very fortunate to miss the snow, just getting rain. With all the snow falling in the northeast I thought about growing up in Michigan. We had large winters every year and red cardinals were easy to spot in the snow! So I decided on another cardinal... one that lives in Hawaii.. ;-)

   ❄ Aloha everybody! Mele Kalikimaka,... that is Hawaiian for Merry Christmas! Are you all ready for the holidays? My family spends time together all the time, but we will be enjoying the holidays too... This year, no snow is forecast but that is normal in Virginia... Did you know that the Hawaiian people didn't celebrate Christmas prior to the arrival of Captain Cook in the year 1778? It was the missionaries from New England in 1820 who first introduced Christmas to the Hawaiian people.

   Aloha everyone in the Hawaiian Life community... Happy Thanksgiving or should I say Hau'oli La Ho'omakika'i, that is Hawaiian for Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope everyone has a great week and for those who do celebrate the holiday I hope you get to share your day with family and/or friends. If you are making way too much food invite a friend! I think about how lucky I am and that is where I am going with today's article... Most of you might already know Mike. I try to not talk about him too much lol or he may go and hide... but to the new readers here, he is the reason we get to visit Hawaiian Life...

   Aloha and Good Morning to everyone in the Hawaiian Life community... How are you all doing on this fine Fall day? The colors in the trees are starting to change here and it is just beautiful... I love nature and what better way of sharing nature with you than to give you an update on Greg and Candice... I originally wrote this article a few months ago, but have added parts of it along with a new update to share what they have been up to lately... an exciting new Adventure series I think you will love... ;-)

   Aloha and Good Morning everybody in the Hawaiian Life community. How are you all doing today? Today is the start of Autumn/Fall. It seemed like those countless triple digits would never go away this Summer but the degree mark is lowering, allowing us to enjoy the weather... in fact somewhere in northeast Minnesota, they had a snowfall overnight... ok... that is a bit too much of a change! It is beautiful in Hawaii, this time of year, so today, I'm talking about a unique fish that inhabits the beautiful serene waters of the Hawaiian Islands...

   Aloha and Good Morning everyone in the Hawaiian Life community! How are you all today? Another hurricane season is upon us and all that water got me thinking of turtles. Turtles are magical and seeing a recent photo from Maui of baby Hawksbill sea turtles just hatching got me thinking that I haven't talked about them yet... so Hawksbill sea turtles it is... For everyone in the path of Isaac, I hope it veers off. I have a couple Dear friends in its path and sending prayers that you stay safe... *Hugs*

   Aloha everyone in the Hawaiian Life community... How are you all doing today? I enjoyed a glorious two weeks trying to keep up with all the goings on during the Olympics... They sure were exciting. I love watching everyone come together from all the different countries, whether they won or not... truly inspiring! Time to leave London behind... and get back to the islands...and a little Aloha...

   Aloha and Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening to everyone in the Hawaiian Life community. How are you all doing today? The Summer heat is still an ongoing thing with the drought getting bigger by the day. The Summer Olympics are about to begin and hopefully give a much needed break from the lack of "good" television shows and a break from the heat outdoors. I'm looking forward to these games being in London. Of course I'm rooting for the USA but am excited for all the different countries competing to break records and have a great time. I really don't care who wins or from where, as long as it is all done or played fairly... ;-)

   Aloha and Good Morning everyone in the Hawaiian Life community! How are you all today? I just want to say again, it is soooo good to be back!! I missed you guys soooo much... ;-) The heat seems to have consumed the Summer. In some places it started way before Summer even got here... There are areas that need rain more than ever and other areas that wish it would stop. So it is time for another look at some things we can do to keep cool so we can have the safest but most enjoyable time possible in this heat...

   Aloha and Good Morning everyone in the Hawaiian Life community.. Sorry I've been away.. my computer hard drive died and it was time to buy a new laptop, but I am back. While I get the feel of the new machine, I'll send an article I did on Spam. It's actually quite popular all over the world, especially in Hawaii. It's 75 years old now. Did you know that back in 1936 it was actually called Hormel Spiced Ham? That lasted about one year, then they took the first two letters of that name and the last two letters and it then became Spam... I actually use it to make scalloped potatoes. It's quite good trust me... ;-)

Last week a mountain of stormy weather hit Hawaii, doing lots of damage on Kauai & Oahu. That is my subject... Will send a couple articles from Mike of reasons to visit those islands.    Aloha and Good now Afternoon in the Hawaiian Life community. How are you all doing? In with March, we have had our share of bad weather already. Terrible stormy tonadic weather, which is starting March out like a lion! Another force of nature is happening in Hawaii. The beautiful Kilauea Volcano has taken the final home and where I bring you one man's story. I've been under the weather with a respiratory infection for about a month... the whole family had it but we are feeling better and I am back and ready to roll...
